Gucci shines in Milan Fashion Photos as De Sarno excels

On the third day of Milan Fashion Week, the fashion crowd braved rain, traffic jams, and a local transport strike to attend shows and discover the next big trend. Despite delays, Donatella Versace managed to start her evening show on time, setting the stage for a day of exciting womenswear previews for Fall-Winter 2024-25.

Sabato De Sarno presented his second Gucci womenswear collection, adding a touch of sparkle to the fashion house’s new codes. Simple yet sexy silhouettes like belted coats, apron rompers, and plunging neck-line tunics showcased power and sexiness. Long outerwear adorned with sequins and crystal beading transitioned into sequined shifts, halter cocktail dresses, slip dresses, and cozy knitwear. The collection featured no-pants looks paired with the season’s new equestrian boots and platform loafers in bold colors like oxblood red, navy, mustard, olive green, and aubergine.

The Gucci collection subtly whispered the brand’s identity through small subversive acts like hidden buttoning and hidden geometric patterns. With no logos or familiar motifs, De Sarno focused on details that can only be appreciated up close or when worn, creating a sense of intimacy and exclusivity. Front row attendees included Kirsten Dunst, Julia Garner, Solange Knowles, and De Sarno’s parents, who gave a standing ovation at the end of the show.

At Versace, punk energy was in the air, with deep slits, mod high-neck mini dresses, and animal print bodysuits dominating the runway. The collection featured a mix of menswear and womenswear looks, with Gigi Hadid showcasing a fitted navy midi dress with a sheer blouse. The nostalgic black-and-red check, spiky hairstyles, and pulsating music added to the rebellious punk vibe of the show.

Sunnei took a different approach with their runway show, featuring no soundtrack and instead playing the interior monologues of models as they walked in the designers’ trademark striped carpets. Simone Rizzo and Loris Messina’s collection showcased enveloping puffer coats in golden hues, relaxed tailoring, and oversized silhouettes. The absence of music allowed the audience to focus on the unique voices of the models and the designs themselves.

Overall, the third day of Milan Fashion Week was filled with excitement, creativity, and innovation. Designers like Sabato De Sarno, Donatella Versace, and Sunnei pushed boundaries and explored new concepts in womenswear, creating a diverse range of looks for the upcoming Fall-Winter season. Despite challenges like rain and transportation strikes, the fashion crowd remained dedicated to discovering the next big trend and supporting the industry’s top talents.
