Air Force’s 3rd Air Expeditionary Wing Participates in Inaugural Bamboo Eagle Exercise

The U.S. Air Force Warfare Center has launched its first-ever exercise called Bamboo Eagle. The exercise aims to optimize Air Force capabilities and prepare Airmen for joint, all-domain combat operations. The exercise focuses on the hub-and-spoke concept and agile combat employment, with the 3rd Air Expeditionary Wing acting as the mission command center. The wing will coordinate and direct the four fighter units and one airlift unit at the operational level. The exercise also emphasizes distributed control, mission planning, and operations, allowing subordinate commanders to respond to changes in the operational environment.

Lt. Col. Terry Fregly, commander of the 525th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron, stated that the exercise is crucial for learning how to execute agile combat employment and apply the lessons learned in future operations. The exercise will also enhance joint interoperability and data-sharing with allied and partner forces. Fregly emphasized the importance of working closely with allies and partners, as seamless integration is necessary for executing operations across the globe.
