The House Oversight Committee Democrats have released an extensive collection of photos related to the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The images, some of which were released to the public for the first time, include everything from crossbows, passports, and pill bottles to lines from Vladimir Nabokov’s notorious novel “Lolita” inked onto someone’s body.
The first set of photos released feature two camouflage compound bows and a pill bottle for the medication phenazopyridine. The bottle’s label is blacked out, revealing only an address on East 66th Street in New York City and the prescribed dosage. Epstein owned a large townhouse on East 71st Street. Phenazopyridine is a medication used to relieve discomfort caused by urinary tract infections or irritation, according to the Mayo Clinic.
The second batch of photos revealed lines from “Lolita”, a controversial novel about an older man’s obsession and sexual exploitation of a young girl, written on different parts of a person’s body. One blurred image shows a line from the novel scrawled across a person’s chest, reading: “Lo-lee-ta: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth.”
In the same series of photos, additional lines from the book appear on the person’s foot, with the novel itself visible in the background. The line reads: “She was Lo, plain Lo, in the morning, standing four feet ten in one sock.” Further lines were written on the person’s hip, neck, and along their spine. Epstein was known to have kept a first edition copy of “Lolita” in his New York City home.
