Priscilla Presley Marks Harper and Finley Lockwood’s 18th Birthday with Touching Instagram Tribute

Priscilla Presley is celebrating a major milestone in her family: her granddaughters Harper and Finley Lockwood have turned 18. The proud grandmother took to Instagram on Wednesday, October 7, to share a heartfelt birthday message for the twins, who are the daughters of the late Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Lockwood.

“Happy birthday Harper & Finley ❤️,” Priscilla, 81, wrote alongside a photo of her granddaughters. In the image, the young women are dressed in black, with a serene beach visible in the background. The simple but affectionate message was enough to warm the hearts of fans who have followed the Presley family through years of joy and tragedy.

Harper and Finley were born in 2008, two years after Lisa Marie and Lockwood were married in 2006. The couple’s marriage eventually ended in divorce in 2016, but their twin daughters have remained a central part of the Presley family. Lisa Marie, who was Elvis Presley’s only child, also shared two children with her first husband, Danny Keough: daughter Riley Keough and son Benjamin Keough. Lisa Marie and Danny were married from 1988 to 1994, and even after their divorce, they remained close and co-parented their children.

The milestone birthday comes after an especially difficult period for the Presley family. In 2020, Benjamin Keough died by suicide at the age of 27, leaving the entire family devastated. Then, in January 2023, Lisa Marie Presley died suddenly after suffering cardiac arrest. She was only 54 years old. Her death sent shockwaves through the entertainment world and left her loved ones to navigate life without her.

In the months and years that followed, Priscilla has been open about how the family has dealt with grief, loss, and the challenge of staying close after such profound heartbreak. At a speaking engagement at Westgate Las Vegas in May, Priscilla reflected on how Lisa Marie’s death had changed the family’s dynamic. She was joined by her son, Navarone Garibaldi, whom she shares with Marco Garibaldi.

“It’s kind of separated us in a way because, you know, we would get together and have meals and, of course, you know, have family,” Priscilla said during the event. She then added, with a note of bittersweet understanding: “The girls are 18 now, the twins. So they have their boyfriends and, you know, do their thing. It’s been, even though we’re close — what?”

Navarone, however, gently disagreed with his mother’s assessment. From his perspective, the family began to drift apart much earlier, after Benjamin’s death in 2020. “I would disagree,” he chimed in. He explained that Benjamin’s passing was the “first thing that separated” the family, even though one might expect a tragedy to bring relatives closer together.

“When you would think that would be something that should bring everybody together, that somehow separated us further, because everybody grieves in different ways, and everybody felt, you know, put blame on somebody in different ways, and just felt different ways about it,” the screenwriter explained. “Somehow, that separated us further. … Now, after my sister died, I feel like now we’re actually coming closer together, and I feel like we’re all letting go of those feelings.”

His words painted a picture of a family that has had to work through grief in deeply personal ways. Loss can be a strange force: it can unite some families, but it can also expose fractures and create new ones. The Presley family, already living under the weight of an iconic legacy, has faced more than its share of public tragedy. That they are now finding their way back to one another is a hopeful sign for those who care about them.

Riley Keough, Lisa Marie’s eldest daughter and an actress in her own right, has also spoken candidly about the aftermath of her mother’s death. In an interview with Vanity Fair in 2023, Riley described the emotional chaos that followed Lisa Marie’s sudden passing. “When my mom passed, there was a lot of chaos in every aspect of our lives,” she said. “Everything felt like the carpet had been ripped out and the floor had melted from under us. Everyone was in a bit of a panic to understand how we move forward, and it just took a minute to understand the details of the situation, because it’s complicated. There was a bit of upheaval, but now everything’s going to be how it was.”

That complicated combination of grief, legal matters, and family dynamics was largely hidden from the public eye, but Riley’s words gave fans a rare glimpse into how the family was processing such an overwhelming loss. Throughout it all, Priscilla has remained a steady presence in her granddaughters’ lives. She has often stepped in to support the twins, who were just 14 years old when their mother died.

At Lisa Marie’s memorial service in January 2023, Priscilla tearfully read a eulogy that Harper and Finley had written for their mother. The moment was one of the most emotional moments of the service, held at Graceland, the legendary Memphis estate that once belonged to Elvis Presley. Priscilla’s decision to read the words of her granddaughters showed how important they were to her and how much she wanted to honor both her daughter’s memory and the girls’ love for their mother.

Since then, the twins have continued to grow up, and Priscilla has occasionally shared rare glimpses of them with the public. Last December, she posted a holiday photo of Harper and Finley with the caption, “Holiday 2025 & unbreakable family bond -P🌹.” In that image, the twins were 17 years old, sitting around a table with family members, looking all grown up. Now, just a few months later, they have reached adulthood, and their grandmother is marking the occasion with love and pride.

The twins’ 18th birthday is a significant moment not only for them but for the entire Presley family. They are the youngest members of a family that carries a tremendous cultural legacy. Their grandfather was Elvis Presley, the King of Rock and Roll, and their mother was a singer and songwriter in her own right, as well as a devoted advocate for her father’s estate. Growing up in the shadow of Graceland comes with unique pressures, but Harper and Finley have largely stayed out of the spotlight, thanks in part to the protective care of their family.

Priscilla’s birthday post was simple, but it spoke volumes. For a grandmother who has lost a son-in-law to tragedy and a daughter far too soon, watching her granddaughters reach adulthood is a reminder that life continues even after loss. It is also a reminder that family bonds, though tested by grief, can eventually be rebuilt.

The twins now stand at the beginning of their adult lives. They have boyfriends, their own interests, and a future full of possibilities. At the same time, they are forever connected to a family history that includes extraordinary fame and heartbreaking loss. As they navigate the transition into adulthood, they carry with them the love of their grandmother, their sister Riley, their uncles, and all those who have watched them grow up.

Priscilla’s Instagram tribute may have been short, but for fans of the Presley family, it was a meaningful public acknowledgment of the twins’ special day. It also served as a reminder that, despite everything the family has been through, there is still room for celebration, hope, and new beginnings.

Happy birthday, Harper and Finley.
