Priscilla Presley Celebrates Granddaughters Harper and Finley Lockwood on Their 18th Birthday
Priscilla Presley is honoring her granddaughters on a major milestone. The 81-year-old matriarch of the Presley family took to Instagram on Wednesday, October 7, to celebrate Harper and Finley Lockwood, the twin daughters of her late daughter Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Lockwood, as they turned 18.
“Happy birthday Harper & Finley ❤️,” Priscilla wrote alongside a photo of the twins. In the image, Harper and Finley are dressed in black, with a beach visible behind them. The photo offered a rare public look at the twins, who have largely grown up away from the spotlight despite their famous family name.
Harper and Finley were born in 2008, two years after Lisa Marie married Lockwood in 2006. At the time, it seemed the couple had built a stable family. The twins arrived in 2008, completing a family that already included Lisa Marie’s older children, Riley Keough and Benjamin Keough. But the marriage would not last. Lisa Marie and Lockwood divorced in 2016 after a decade together. Their split was complicated and sometimes contentious, but the twins remained at the center of both parents’ lives.
Lisa Marie had welcomed Riley and Benjamin with her first husband, Danny Keough. The two were married from 1988 to 1994. Riley has since become a successful actress and director, known for roles in films such as American Honey and the television series Daisy Jones & the Six. Benjamin, who stayed largely out of the public eye, died by suicide in 2020. His death was a devastating blow to the Presley family, and it set off a chain of grief that would only deepen when Lisa Marie died three years later.
In January 2023, Lisa Marie died after suffering cardiac arrest. She was 54. Her sudden death shocked fans around the world and left her family reeling. For Priscilla, the loss of her only child was unimaginable. She has since been candid about how the family dynamics shifted after Lisa Marie’s death, acknowledging that grief does not always bring people together.
During a speaking engagement at Westgate Las Vegas in May, Priscilla appeared with her son, Navarone Garibaldi, whom she shares with former partner Marco Garibaldi. The conversation turned to the family’s healing process, and Priscilla spoke openly about the separateness that crept into their relationships after Lisa Marie passed away.
“It’s kind of separated us in a way because, you know, we would get together and have meals and, of course, you know, have family,” she said.
She then turned to the twins, who were about to turn 18. “[The] girls are 18 now, the twins. So they have their boyfriends and, you know, do their thing. It’s been, even though we’re close — what?”
Navarone gently pushed back on that characterization. “I would disagree,” he said. In his view, the family had already begun to fracture after Benjamin’s death in 2020. He explained that grief had a strange way of pulling people apart, even when everyone was mourning the same person.
“When you would think that would be something that should bring everybody together, that somehow separated us further, because everybody grieves in different ways, and everybody felt, you know, put blame on somebody in different ways, and just felt different ways about it,” the screenwriter said.
Navarone continued: “Somehow, that separated us further. … Now, after my sister died, I feel like now we’re actually coming closer together, and I feel like we’re all letting go of those feelings.”
His words offered a glimmer of hope amid the tragedy. After years of tension and heartbreak, the family appears to be finding its way back to one another. The twins’ 18th birthday is a chance to celebrate life and new beginnings, even as the family continues to honor the memories of those they have lost.
Riley Keough has also reflected publicly on the aftermath of her mother’s death. In a 2023 interview with Vanity Fair, she described the chaos that engulfed the family in the months that followed.
“When my mom passed, there was a lot of chaos in every aspect of our lives,” Riley explained. “Everything felt like the carpet had been ripped out and the floor had melted from under us. Everyone was in a bit of a panic to understand how we move forward, and it just took a minute to understand the details of the situation, because it’s complicated. There was a bit of upheaval, but now everything’s going to be how it was.”
Riley’s words captured the difficulty of navigating loss in a family as famous and complicated as the Presleys. Public scrutiny only compounded the pain. But through it all, Priscilla has remained a constant presence for her granddaughters. She has often used social media to share rare glimpses of Harper and Finley, showing how close they remain.
In another recent social media post, Priscilla shared a rare family photo of the twins during the holidays. She captioned it, “Holiday 2025 & unbreakable family bond -P🌹.” The photo showed Harper and Finley, then 17, sitting around a table with family. Even at that age, they looked remarkably grown-up. Now, with their 18th birthday, they are officially adults.
The twins have also been part of the family’s public mourning. At Lisa Marie’s memorial service in January 2023, Priscilla tearfully read a eulogy that Harper and Finley had written for their mother. It was one of the most emotional moments of the service, as Priscilla stood before the mourners at Graceland, the iconic estate where Lisa Marie grew up and where Elvis Presley is buried. The twins were only 14 at the time, and their words served as a powerful reminder of the bond they shared with their mother.
As Harper and Finley begin this new chapter, they do so with a legacy that is both a blessing and a burden. They are the granddaughters of Elvis Presley, the King of Rock and Roll. Their mother was Lisa Marie, the sole heir to the Presley estate and a musician in her own right. Their older half-sister Riley is an accomplished actress. And their grandmother Priscilla is a cultural icon who helped preserve Elvis’s legacy for decades.
Yet for all the weight of that history, Harper and Finley are also simply teenagers entering adulthood. They have their own lives, their own relationships, and their own futures ahead of them. Priscilla’s birthday post was a small but meaningful gesture, a public expression of love on a day that matters to any parent or grandparent.
The Presley family has been through more than its share of tragedy. Benjamin’s death was a wound that never fully healed. Lisa Marie’s sudden passing reopened it. But the family has also shown resilience. Navarone’s belief that they are coming closer together is a hopeful sign. Riley’s steady presence has helped anchor the family. And Priscilla, even at 81, continues to show up, to celebrate, and to remind her granddaughters that they are loved.
Happy birthday, Harper and Finley. The world may know their name, but on this day, they are simply two young women celebrating a milestone with the family that loves them.
