The raids targeted several senior ISIS leaders, resulting in the killing of at least seven ISIS operatives. Later in the day, U.S. forces participated in an Iraqi-led operation against ISIS fighters in the Anbar province in Iraq. While the assessment of this operation is still ongoing, there were no reported injuries to U.S. personnel during this particular mission. Both raids were led by Iraqi forces, with the U.S. providing support in an assistance role.
Despite no signs of an ISIS resurgence, Sabrina Singh emphasized that ISIS remains a threat that requires continued attention. While the organization may not be as potent as it was a decade ago, ISIS still operates in Iraq and Syria, with its influence extending to other parts of the world.
