Porsche introduces second all-electric vehicle, expanding their lineup

German auto manufacturer Porsche has announced its second-ever model of an all-electric vehicle, the new EV Macan. The Macan comes in two forms – the Macan 4 and the Macan Turbo – and both SUVs are equipped with high-performance 100-kilowatt-hour batteries. They are also the first Porsches to use an 800-volt architecture, enabling them to charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 21 minutes at a 270-kilowatt DC fast charger. The Macan 4 has 402 horsepower and the Turbo model boasts 630 hp, with zero to 60 times of 4.9 seconds and 3.1 seconds, respectively. The range is over 300 miles per charge.

The interior of the Macan will feature the Porsche Driver Experience, a network of displays consisting of displays in front of the driver, a console display, and augmented reality technology that can overlay images such as digital navigation arrows on the road. The Macan model was originally launched in 2014 and this new electric version marks the 10th anniversary of the model. It is Porsche’s second fully electric vehicle after the Taycan was released in 2019. The Macan 4 starts at $78,800, while the Turbo model is priced at $105,300, with both models expected to be available in the second half of the year.
