TIME and Statista partnered to create a list of America’s Top GreenTech Companies for 2024, highlighting 250 companies making strides towards a greener future. The selection process focused on companies based in the United States that are dedicated to developing and providing green technologies, products, or services. The study was based on three key criteria: positive environmental impact, innovation drive, and financial strength.
To assess a company’s positive environmental impact, Statista collaborated with HolonIQ to evaluate the quality and impact of their product/service portfolio. This included metrics such as carbon capture, offsets, and renewable energy generated. Companies were scored based on their contribution to mitigating or reversing the impact of human activities on the environment.
Financial strength was another important factor in the selection process. Statista analyzed revenue, employee, and funding data obtained from publicly available sources such as annual reports and company websites. Company disclosures submitted via an online application form were also considered. This helped to determine the financial stability and growth potential of each company.
Innovation drive was the third dimension used to evaluate companies for the Top GreenTech list. Statista worked with LexisNexis® Intellectual Property Solutions to analyze the quantity and value of a company’s intellectual property. This helped to identify companies that are leading the way in developing innovative green technologies and solutions.
